Area Manager – NYC/NJ Market

About the role

AKIRA is seeking an Area Manager to lead its stores in the NYC/NJ market. The role involves overseeing multiple locations, driving sales performance, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience aligned with AKIRA’s brand values.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, onboard and mentor store managers and their teams across the region.
• Develop leadership capabilities through training and performance coaching.
• Foster a positive, energetic and inclusive culture that reflects AKIRA’s values.
• Ensure consistent execution of AKIRA’s 5 Steps of Selling in every store.
• Provide hands‑on support, set clear expectations and deliver real‑time feedback.
• Own and exceed sales targets on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
• Maintain top‑tier store presentation, visual standards, inventory practices and customer service.
• Enforce AKIRA policies and Code of Conduct with fairness and integrity.
• Promote collaboration across stores to share best practices and solve challenges.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of multi‑store or area management experience in retail or fashion.
• Passion for fashion and strong sense of trend‑driven merchandising.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong work ethic.
• Proven ability to inspire, coach and motivate multiple teams.
• Excellent time‑management, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly, take initiative and act with urgency.
