Mechanical Service Engineer – Port Equipment

About the role

The Mechanical Service Engineer will provide on‑site support for a range of port handling equipment, including ship‑to‑shore (STS) cranes, rubber‑tyred gantry (RTG) cranes, reach stackers, empty container handlers, forklifts, telehandlers and material handlers. The role combines routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and customer interaction to ensure high equipment availability and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily equipment inspections, preventive maintenance and routine checks.
• Diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and manage the complete repair process on‑site.
• Deliver training to customer personnel on proper equipment operation and maintenance.
• Develop aftermarket sales opportunities by promoting spare parts and out‑of‑warranty services.
• Strengthen the service brand through proactive customer relationship management and technical advice.

Required profile

• College degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in equipment repair and maintenance, preferably in port or heavy‑industry environments.
• Strong hands‑on ability to diagnose faults quickly and implement effective solutions.
• High work efficiency, good communication skills and a diligent, trustworthy attitude.
