Clearance Officer

About the role

The Clearance Officer will lead customs clearance activities for inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring timely and compliant processing while maintaining strong relationships with customs authorities and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with freight forwarders, couriers and shipping lines to obtain quotations and manage shipment documentation.
• Collect and verify all required customs documents from the Purchasing team.
• Monitor and execute customs clearance procedures, preparing duty documentation, permissions and exemptions.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of customs, Ministry of Health and import/export regulations.
• Act as a technical advisor to Purchasing on customs matters and support risk identification and mitigation.
• Control expenses, optimise costs and ensure compliance with legal and corporate standards.
• Operate and maintain shipment tracking systems to guarantee visibility of consignments.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Supply Chain, Engineering or related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in customs operations.
• Fluent in Arabic, French and English (written and spoken).
• Strong knowledge of commercial laws and customs regulations.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
