Field Engineering Program – GT Mechanical

About the role

The Field Engineering Program (FEP) is an entry‑level pathway at GE Vernova’s Gas Power business. Participants receive a blend of classroom and on‑the‑job training, learning from experienced Technical Field Advisors while traveling to customer sites to install, maintain, and service industrial power‑generation rotating equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate on‑site activities for gas/steam turbine installations and upgrades.
• Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and calibrations on rotating equipment.
• Respond to emergency service requests and troubleshoot problematic assets.
• Provide technical instruction to customer representatives on operation, calibration, and maintenance.
• Prepare technical reports, order materials, secure quotations, and compile job status updates.

Required profile

• Entry‑level candidate enrolled in the Field Engineering Program.
• Willingness to travel frequently and work on customer sites.
• Strong commitment to safety, environmental policies, and EHS standards.
• Ability to develop technical expertise, lean thinking, and leadership skills.

Required skills

• Interpretation of electrical, mechanical flow, and instrument diagrams.
• Dial and laser alignment of rotating equipment.
• Use of thermal growth measurement equipment.
• Installation, maintenance, and calibration of gas/steam turbines.
• Technical reporting and documentation.
