Maintenance Manager

About the role

The Maintenance Manager leads the planning, organization, direction and control of all maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable and cost‑effective operation of facilities, plants and equipment. The role creates preventive and predictive strategies, oversees teams and contractors, and drives continuous improvement to minimise downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and supervise preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programmes.
• Plan, schedule and prioritize work orders to maximise equipment availability.
• Coordinate shutdowns, inspections and large‑scale maintenance campaigns.
• Monitor asset condition, performance and lifecycle; maintain accurate records and technical documentation.
• Lead, coach and develop maintenance supervisors, engineers, technicians and support staff.
• Prepare and manage the annual maintenance budget, monitor expenditures and identify cost‑optimisation opportunities.
• Analyse equipment failures, conduct root‑cause analysis and implement reliability‑centered maintenance (RCM) and condition‑based monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements, including permit‑to‑work and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Manage contractors and vendors, reviewing performance and contractual compliance.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead and develop multidisciplinary maintenance teams.
• Strong organisational and planning skills to balance multiple priorities.
• Experience managing budgets and controlling maintenance costs.
