Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Specialist – Telecommunications (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a high‑performing Senior Business Intelligence Specialist to lead reporting, dashboard creation, and data‑modeling initiatives for our telecommunications business units. The role is fully remote and focuses on turning raw telecom data into actionable visual insights for executive decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimise enterprise‑level dashboards, interactive scorecards and ad‑hoc reports using MicroStrategy and other BI tools.
• Leverage generative AI and agentic tools to automate and accelerate report generation.
• Develop semantic layers, metrics, hierarchies and schema objects in MicroStrategy to serve diverse reporting needs.
• Author, refine and optimise complex SQL queries, views and data marts within Teradata data warehouses.
• Collaborate with Commercial, Marketing, Finance and Customer Support leaders to define core telecom KPIs.
• Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks across queries, reports and dashboards to ensure fast load times.
• Maintain documentation for reporting definitions, ensure data consistency and partner with Data Engineering on schema improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Business Intelligence, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a BI Developer or Analyst in enterprise data‑warehouse environments.
• Strong preference for experience in the telecommunications sector, including work with subscriber data, revenue streams and product performance metrics.
• Proven ability to work independently and deliver results in a fully remote setting.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with MicroStrategy (preferred).
• Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau or Looker.
• Exposure to generative AI or agentic AI tools for BI.
• Advanced SQL proficiency and experience with Teradata databases.
