Senior Process Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Process Engineer with solid experience in the Oil & Gas sector to lead our Process Engineering team in Algeria. The successful candidate will act as the technical reference point, overseeing design activities from FEED through detailed engineering and ensuring high‑quality deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise process engineering activities for on‑shore oil & gas facilities (off‑shore experience a plus).
• Develop and approve process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and Heat & Material Balances (H&MB).
• Size and select equipment such as separators, vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, and compressors.
• Prepare and validate process datasheets, line lists, equipment lists, utility consumption summaries, and operating manuals.
• Facilitate HAZID, HAZOP, and SIL sessions and conduct process safety and risk assessments.
• Coordinate with piping, electrical, instrumentation, safety, and other disciplines to ensure technical consistency.
• Provide advanced technical support during client, licensor, and supplier clarification meetings.
• Support construction, pre‑commissioning, and commissioning phases when required.
• Mentor junior and mid‑level engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering workflows.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or a related field.
• 7‑10 years of experience in process design for oil & gas or industrial plants, preferably in Algeria.
• Proven experience leading and managing an engineering team.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and leadership capabilities.

Required skills

• Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
• Heat & Material Balances (H&MB) calculations.
• Equipment sizing for separators, vessels, heat exchangers, pumps and compressors.
• Preparation of process datasheets, line lists and equipment lists.
• HAZID, HAZOP and SIL studies, process safety and risk assessment.
• Process simulation tools – Aspen HYSYS / Aspen Plus (preferred).
• Technical English proficiency.
