Business Controller – Algeria

About the role

Danone MENA is looking for a Business Controller to join its Maghreb Cluster, based in Algiers. You will support the Controlling Lead in budget management, distributor follow‑up and financial monitoring across Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Demand Planner and sales teams to build IMS‑based volume forecasts and bridge them to TMS, analysing drivers such as stock, pricing and FX.
• Prepare country‑level P&L statements, identify risks and opportunities, and support distributor contract reviews.
• Act as a strategic finance partner for Sales, Planning and Marketing teams in the Maghreb region.
• Coordinate and control budgets for A&P, trade promotions and other selling costs.
• Oversee topline controlling, variance analysis and net‑sales forecasting.
• Monitor distributor collections and customer receivables in Morocco and Tunisia.
• Conduct SKU profitability analysis and manage trade promotions by distributor.
• Assist the Controlling Manager with audit preparation, internal control compliance and year‑end statutory reporting.
• Propose and implement new business processes to improve efficiency.

Required profile

• Graduation from a business school with a major in Finance or Accounting.
• Qualified accountant (CPA, CMA or equivalent).
• 4‑5 years of experience in a similar controlling role within a matrixed or multinational environment.
• Strong strategic thinking, accountability and results orientation.

Required skills

• Solid understanding of IFRS/GAAP accounting principles.
• Financial planning and analysis expertise.
• Proficiency with ERP and BI tools, specifically SAP and Power BI.
• Experience with data integrity, systems management and internal control frameworks.
• Familiarity with audit processes and statutory reporting.
