Athletic Director

About the role

The Athletic Director will lead and manage the interscholastic athletics program for both middle and high schools within Constantine Public Schools. Working closely with school principals, the role ensures smooth operations, compliance with regulations, and a positive experience for student‑athletes.

Key responsibilities

• Administer the middle‑school and high‑school athletic programs, including scheduling, event supervision, and compliance.
• Supervise, hire, and evaluate coaches; coordinate their professional development.
• Serve as the district liaison for MHSAA, the Southwestern Athletic Conference, youth sports organizations, and the Falcon Athletic Boosters.
• Develop, review, and enforce rules, regulations, and eligibility criteria for athletic participation.
• Maintain communication with parents and school community regarding athletic policies.
• Represent the district on local committees, the Constantine Athletic Hall of Fame, and the Constantine Fitness Center.
• Oversee student health, safety, and welfare during athletic activities.
• Operate office technology and equipment efficiently; assist with budget monitoring and supply ordering.

Required profile

• Successful head‑coaching experience preferred.
• At least five years of experience as a teacher and/or coach.
• Valid teaching certificate preferred.
• Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with staff, parents, and external partners.
