Legal Counsel

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Legal Counsel to join our team in Algiers. Working under the guidance of the Legal Director, you will support the company’s legal and compliance activities across a range of commercial and regulatory matters.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare legal documents such as summonses, subpoenas, complaints and responses.
• Assist attorneys during trial proceedings by gathering evidence, compiling artefacts and tracking case progress.
• Conduct legal research, maintain communications with involved parties and catalogue case information.
• Maintain regular client communication, schedule depositions, arbitrations and other meetings.
• Read case law, draft briefs and organise archival files.
• Support compliance risk management and daily transaction reviews, including sales and procurement contracts.
• Verify information accuracy and follow up on payments related to disputes.

Required profile

• 3 to 5 years of experience in a legal environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in law or related field (minimum two‑year degree required).
• Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
