Production Section Head – Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

About the role

The Production Section Head leads the operational, organizational, and technical management of all production units, including manufacturing, packaging, and internal logistics. The role ensures compliance with GMP standards while driving performance, quality, safety, and cost objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate production units (preparation, manufacturing, packaging) to ensure smooth workflow.
• Guarantee availability of materials, equipment, and personnel.
• Optimize capacity, reduce downtime, and oversee production activities in line with approved procedures.
• Ensure adherence to GMP, HSE, and ISO standards; verify batch records and documentation.
• Manage deviations, non‑conformities, and production incidents.
• Organize work schedules, approve leave, monitor performance, and identify training needs.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance on CAPA, change controls, audits, and regulatory inspections.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives such as Lean, Kaizen, 5S, SMED.

Required profile

• Engineering degree or Master’s in industrial pharmacy, chemistry, process engineering or related field.
• 6‑10 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or a similar industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of GMP requirements and ISO 14001/45001 standards.
• Proven leadership, decision‑making, and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Microsoft Dynamics AX (or equivalent ERP system)
• Experience with granulators, blister machines, tablet presses
• ERP systems proficiency
• Lean, Kaizen, SMED, 5S methodologies
