Rooms Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

The Rooms Maintenance Supervisor ensures that all guest rooms and related facilities are kept in optimal condition through preventive maintenance, timely repairs, and strict safety compliance. Reporting to hotel management, you will lead a small team to deliver high‑quality service to guests and uphold Marriott’s standards.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and perform preventive maintenance on tools, appliances, and equipment.
• Calibrate controls, gauges, meters and operate shut‑off valves.
• Order, label, stock parts and manage inventory and purchase‑order logs.
• Conduct life‑safety checks, including fire‑pump and generator run tests, and inspect fire‑sprinkler valves and alarm systems.
• Respond to guest repair requests and assist in disaster‑response protocol development.
• Support management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling and motivating staff.
• Follow all safety policies, report hazards, and complete required safety certifications.
• Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality of proprietary information.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant maintenance experience.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
• No specific license or certification required.

Required skills

• Preventive maintenance techniques.
• Calibration of mechanical and electronic controls.
• Operation of power lifts and other maintenance equipment.
• Use of computer systems for maintenance logging and inventory management.
• Life‑safety system testing and fire‑sprinkler/ alarm inspection.
