Finance Controller – French Speaking Africa

About the role

The Finance Controller for French‑Speaking Africa will ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with US GAAP and local regulations, and robust internal controls across the region. You will partner with external auditors, tax teams, and GE Healthcare Center of Excellence teams to deliver high‑quality financial statements and drive process simplification.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver timely US GAAP monthly and quarterly financial reports for the region.
• Oversee statutory filings, local audits, and coordination with external auditors.
• Perform balance‑sheet analysis, ensure account integrity, and reconcile accounts promptly.
• Maintain Sarbanes‑Oxley 404 and SOCCS compliance, and manage legal‑entity governance.
• Collaborate with Treasury and Tax teams on capital structure, liquidity, and CIT/VAT/WHT filings.
• Lead simplification, Lean, and transformation projects to reduce complexity.
• Drive special projects related to internal controls, financial reporting, and business growth.

Required profile

• Professional experience in accounting, finance, or external auditing.
• Fluent in French and English.
• Strong analytical controllership skills linking financial results to operational performance.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional process‑improvement projects.
• Adaptable, self‑starter with strong attention to detail.
• Experience working in a matrixed, multinational environment.
