KYC Team Leader – Onboarding & Compliance

About the role

Interpath is expanding its central KYC function and seeks a motivated KYC Team Leader to oversee the onboarding process for clients across multiple jurisdictions, with a focus on Algeria. You will guide a team of analysts, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement in risk‑based onboarding.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily activities of KYC analysts, review their work and provide constructive feedback.
• Validate KYC files for accuracy, completeness and adherence to internal policies and regulatory standards.
• Oversee screening results (PEPs, sanctions, adverse media) and manage higher‑risk cases.
• Collaborate with the MLRO team in the UK to refine onboarding workflows and eliminate bottlenecks.
• Support the creation and maintenance of internal KYC and risk‑management guidelines.
• Liaise with client engagement teams to ensure all risk‑related requirements are satisfied before project launch.

Required profile

• Proven experience in KYC, AML or compliance, preferably within a financial advisory or services environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop junior analysts.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on risk assessment and mitigation.
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder collaboration.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of KYC and AML regulations.
• Experience with screening tools for PEPs, sanctions and adverse media.
• Ability to apply consistent risk ratings and due‑diligence levels.
