Medical Science Liaison – Central & West

About the role

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) joins Ipsen’s affiliate medical department as a field‑based scientific professional. The MSL supports non‑promotional medical and scientific initiatives for both marketed and pipeline products, leveraging expertise in therapeutic areas and a strong network of healthcare professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and maintain a database of Thought Leaders (TL) and Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) in the assigned region, following global MSL directives.
• Conduct fair, balanced scientific exchanges with TLs, including presentations on disease management, product information (on‑label and off‑label), and emerging research.
• Respond to unsolicited scientific queries from healthcare professionals and provide up‑to‑date literature evidence.
• Organise and support scientific meetings, satellite symposia, and educational programs at regional congresses.
• Collaborate on potential research projects aligned with Ipsen’s strategic priorities.
• Contribute to medical education initiatives and, when required, to scientific publication programs.
• Ensure compliance with all Ipsen SOPs, policies, local regulations, and relevant industry guidelines.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in a life‑science discipline (PhD, PharmD, MD or equivalent) with strong therapeutic area knowledge.
• Proven experience in scientific communication and relationship building with healthcare professionals.
• Ability to independently identify local scientific opportunities and translate insights into actionable plans.
• Strong organizational skills and adherence to compliance and ethical standards.
