Patient Care Specialist – Heart & Lung Clinic

About the role

The Patient Care Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for patients at the Heart and Lung Clinic. Working Monday‑Friday, you will coordinate labs, radiology, and procedures while ensuring patients receive clear information and timely support.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule and obtain insurance authorizations for radiology and lab procedures.
• Provide patients with detailed pre‑procedure instructions, risks, and benefits.
• Receive test results, discuss abnormal findings with providers, and communicate results to patients.
• Coordinate cardiac clearances, medication reviews, and consent documentation.
• Follow up after visits to address concerns and relay provider recommendations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and act as liaison between providers, pharmacies, and specialty offices.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED (required).
• Completion of a Medical Assistant (MA) training program.
• 1 + year experience in a medical office or specialty patient‑care setting (preferred).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
