Security and Prevention Officer

About the role

JW Marriott is hiring a full-time, non-management Security and Prevention officer for its Trust Complex Buildings in the Nouveau Quartier des Affaires, Bab Ezzouar, Algiers. The role covers property patrols, loss prevention, guest assistance and incident reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol all areas of the property and assist guests with room access
• Monitor CCTV, perimeter alarms, duress alarms and the fire life safety system
• Lock property entrances when required and conduct daily physical hazard inspections
• Respond to accidents, call EMS or give first aid/CPR, and assist guests and employees during emergencies
• Defuse disturbances, escort unwelcome persons and report accidents, thefts and vehicle incidents to the scene
• Complete incident reports, loss prevention shift summaries and daily activity reports, and investigate incidents and gather evidence
• Maintain confidentiality of reports and documents and follow company policies and safety training
• Welcome guests, anticipate their needs, assist people with disabilities and speak clearly and professionally

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred
• No related work experience or supervisory experience required
• Physical ability to stand, sit or walk for long periods, move quickly, and lift up to 50 pounds unaided
• Ability to read small print, use computers and point-of-sale systems, and climb stairs and uneven surfaces
