Environment Specialist (French) – Freelance AI Trainer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced environmental specialist who is fluent in French to help train large‑scale language models. Your expertise will shape AI that supports climate research, policy analysis, sustainability reporting, and conservation initiatives worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Interact with AI models in English and French on real‑world and theoretical environmental scenarios.
• Validate factual accuracy, logical consistency, and document failure modes.
• Provide detailed error traces and suggest improvements to prompt engineering and evaluation metrics.
• Cover topics such as carbon accounting, life‑cycle analysis, pollution control, biodiversity, renewable resource management, and environmental justice.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in environmental science, ecology, environmental engineering, or a related field.
• Fluency in French with experience in French‑speaking regulatory environments.
• Hands‑on or regulatory experience in environmental impact assessment, sustainability reporting, or conservation strategies.
• Strong metacognitive communication skills – ability to “show your work” clearly.

Required skills

• Knowledge of environmental regulations and standards in French‑speaking regions.
• Familiarity with sustainability metrics, carbon accounting, and life‑cycle analysis.
• Experience evaluating and improving AI model outputs.
