Grid Automation & Software Intern

About the role

This internship offers hands‑on experience in Grid Automation & Software (GA&S) technologies, allowing you to work on real industry challenges while learning the GE Vernova way. You will collaborate with experienced engineers and contribute to projects that shape the future of power‑grid intelligence.

Key responsibilities

• Enhance existing Grid Automation & Software solutions and develop new, commercially viable features.
• Apply electrical‑engineering principles, physics, and AI/ML techniques to solve customer and industry problems.
• Participate in pilot projects and initiatives that advance grid technology.
• Work both on‑site and in the office, supporting field services and project management activities.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field.
• Preferably conducting thesis work focused on power‑system protection, controls, or related topics.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0.
• Available to work full‑time (40 hrs/week) during the summer internship.
• Legal right to work in Algeria.

Required skills

• Familiarity with grid automation technologies and IEC standards.
• Foundational knowledge of power‑system concepts such as fault detection and grid stability.
• Basic understanding of AI/ML techniques applied to power‑system problems.
