Head of Development (Maternity Cover)

About the role

We are seeking a Head of Development to cover a 12‑month maternity leave within our Philanthropy team. The role sits at senior level and focuses on driving new business and managing key partner relationships to grow Impetus’s annual income.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, cultivate and secure new funding from trusts, foundations, corporates, co‑investment partners and high‑net‑worth individuals.
• Maintain momentum in new‑business activity and contribute to the team’s strategic delivery.
• Provide strategic account management and stewardship for a small portfolio of high‑value partners.
• Collaborate with the Director of Philanthropy & Partnerships and other team members to ensure seamless delivery of fundraising initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in fundraising or development within the charity sector.
• Track record of securing significant new income from diverse donor bases.
• Strong relationship‑building and strategic account management capabilities.
• Motivation by purpose and commitment to improving outcomes for disadvantaged young people.
