Heart of the House Manager

About the role

The Heart of the House Manager is responsible for the day‑to‑day operation of the staff dormitory, ensuring a safe, clean, and policy‑compliant living environment for employees. Reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources, the role combines housing administration, facilities oversight, and employee support.

Key responsibilities

• Assign rooms and manage check‑in/check‑out processes, issuing keys and linens to staff.
• Inspect dormitory public areas and staff rooms daily, scheduling regular cleanliness audits.
• Coordinate pest‑control, fire‑equipment checks, and electrical maintenance with external contractors.
• Enforce dormitory rules, handle disciplinary issues, and educate employees on policies.
• Maintain accurate records of room keys, inventory, maintenance requests, and weekly rooming lists.
• Organize fire drills in collaboration with the Loss Prevention Director.
• Prepare duty rosters, manage visitor policy, and oversee linen purchase/replacement plans.
• Track and replenish dormitory supplies such as chemicals, garbage bags, and linens.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 3 years of experience in human resources, operations management, or a related field, OR an associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to enforce policies consistently.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with staff, contractors, and HR leadership.
