National Consultant – Adolescent Kit Adaptation & Trainer Support (Algeria)

About the role

UNICEF Algeria seeks a national consultant to adapt, roll out, and supervise the Adolescent Kit across three government ministries. The consultant will lead the contextualisation of the kit, train trainers, and ensure quality follow‑up during a 7.5‑month fixed‑term assignment based in Algiers with travel as required.

Key responsibilities

• Contextualise the Adolescent Kit to align with the Life Skills and Citizenship Education (LSCE) framework.
• Design and deliver training‑of‑trainers sessions for public‑sector cadres, youth workers and educators.
• Supervise the duplication of training activities, provide coaching, and monitor implementation.
• Produce methodological tools, facilitation guides, evaluation instruments and capitalization reports.
• Support replication, dissemination and quality‑follow‑up processes with the partner ministries.

Required profile

• University degree in education, social sciences, psychology, social work, adolescent development, training engineering, pedagogy or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of proven experience in capacity building, trainer‑of‑trainers programmes, life‑skills or non‑formal education for youth.
• Demonstrated ability to design and deliver training for public‑sector actors and to produce training materials and reports.
• Experience working with ministries or public institutions and adapting technical responses to inter‑sectoral needs.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of life‑skills approaches and familiarity with the Adolescent Kit and LSCE framework.
• Expertise in participatory facilitation, adult learning (andragogy), coaching, documentation and report writing.
• Ability to integrate inclusion, gender sensitivity, disability inclusion, child safeguarding, ethics and data protection into all activities.
• Fluency in French (required); Arabic highly desirable; English an asset.
