Principal Professional, Financial Controller

About the role

The Principal Professional, Financial Controller will join the Financial Controller Division at NDB Headquarters in Shanghai. Reporting to the Chief Financial Controller, this senior position ensures the Bank’s financial statements and control activities comply with IFRS and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with IFRS and applicable laws.
• Adapt accounting standards for loans, grants, borrowings, investments, derivatives, capital, payroll, fixed assets and administrative accounts.
• Manage financial control processes including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations and budgeting cycles.
• Analyse balance‑sheet and income‑statement data, monitor financial risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Produce quarterly and annual financial performance analyses and investor roadshow presentations.
• Support internal audit closure, system implementation and bank‑wide automation initiatives.
• Review external data submissions to rating agencies and develop control initiatives aligned with strategic priorities.

Required profile

• Proven experience preparing IFRS‑compliant financial statements for a banking or financial institution.
• Strong knowledge of loan, grant, treasury and payroll accounting.
• Ability to lead financial control activities and manage complex budgeting cycles.
• Experience supporting internal audits and implementing finance‑system upgrades.
