Project Assistant (AVRR Registration Case Worker)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Project Assistant to join the Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) Counseling and Registration team. The role supports migrants interested in the AVRR programme, ensuring accurate registration and appropriate assistance in line with IOM guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Provide guidance and return assistance to migrants interested in IOM’s AVRR programme.
• Register migrants daily through the Migrant Management Operational System Application (MiMOSA) following the AVR Registration workflow and internal procedures.
• Flag registration difficulties to the Head of the Registration Center and recommend improvements.
• Act as focal point for specific caseloads such as unaccompanied migrant children or gender‑based violence survivors, after specialised training.
• Refer vulnerable migrants (UASC, medical cases, potential victims of trafficking, etc.) to appropriate units like Protection or Medical Health.
• Ensure compliance with IOM AVRR guidance notes, SOPs, and documentation requirements (RRDDP, travel documents, AVRR Declaration Forms).
• Maintain standardized use of MiMOSA and other mission‑specific databases.
• Identify and document good practices and lessons learned for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Ability to work with vulnerable migrant groups, including unaccompanied children and gender‑based violence survivors.
• Completed specialised training related to handling vulnerable migrant cases.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using the Migrant Management Operational System Application (MiMOSA) for registration and data management.
