Academy Player Care Manager (U18)

About the role

The Academy Player Care Manager (U18) will join the Academy Operations team to support the wellbeing, development and care of Under‑18 football players. Working closely with players, parents, host families and multidisciplinary colleagues, you will create a caring environment that helps young athletes thrive on and off the pitch.

Key responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with U18 players and their families, acting as a primary point of contact for tailored support.
• Manage and deliver the Lifelong Learner Programme, coordinating age‑appropriate life‑skills and personal‑development activities aligned with Premier League requirements.
• Lead the Host Family Programme, overseeing recruitment, player placements, monthly processes and ongoing communication with host families.
• Support the Academy Mental Health & Wellbeing Strategy, including wellbeing screening and transition initiatives.
• Maintain accurate, confidential player care records and ensure all information is up‑to‑date.

Required profile

• Commitment to safeguarding with the ability to undergo DBS checks (basic, standard or enhanced as required).
• Experience working with young athletes or in a youth‑development environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills to engage with players, families and multidisciplinary teams.
