Business Controller – Maghreb (Algiers)

About the role

Danone MENA is looking for a Business Controller to join its Maghreb Cluster, based in Algiers. The role supports the Controlling Lead in budget management, distributor follow‑up and financial monitoring across Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Demand Planner and sales teams to build IMS‑based volume forecasts and bridge IMS to TMS, analysing drivers such as stock, pricing and FX.
• Prepare country‑level P&L statements, identify risks and opportunities, and conduct profitability analysis by SKU.
• Participate in distributor contract reviews, covering payment terms, value chain and incoterms.
• Act as a strategic finance partner for Sales, Planning and Marketing across the Maghreb region.
• Coordinate and control budgets for A&P, trade promotions and other selling costs.
• Oversee topline controlling, variance analysis and net sales forecasting.
• Monitor distributor collections and customer receivables in Morocco and Tunisia, in coordination with Business Services.
• Support the Controlling Manager in maintaining a strong control environment, year‑end statutory audits, internal audit requirements and legal reporting.
• Propose and implement new business processes to improve efficiency.

Required profile

• Graduation from a business school with a major in Finance or Accounting.
• Qualified accountant (CPA, CMA or equivalent).
• 4‑5 years of experience in a similar role within a matrixed or multinational environment.
• Strong understanding of IFRS/GAAP and financial planning & analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to meet reporting deadlines and ensure data accuracy.
• Experience with audit processes and internal control frameworks.
• Fluent in French (native) and English.
