Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – Regional Leadership

About the role

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will lead ASHRAE Region XV, driving the region’s strategic direction and ensuring alignment with the global ASHRAE mission. Based in Batna, the role is full‑time and on‑site, overseeing all regional activities, budgets, and stakeholder relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute regional strategic plans that support sustainability, energy‑efficient design, and green building standards.
• Manage budgets, allocate resources, and monitor performance metrics across programs and initiatives.
• Supervise staff, volunteers, local chapters, and committees, fostering a collaborative and high‑performing environment.
• Represent Region XV at national and international conferences, meetings, and industry events.
• Lead membership growth, engagement, and communication efforts, acting as the primary spokesperson.
• Build and maintain partnerships with industry stakeholders, academic institutions, and governmental bodies.

Required profile

• Proven leadership and management experience, including strategic planning and organizational governance.
• Strong financial and operational management capabilities, with experience in budgeting and performance monitoring.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including public speaking and negotiation.
• Background in HVAC&R, engineering, or the built environment, with a solid understanding of sustainability and energy‑efficient practices.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, business administration, management, or a related field.
• Fluent in written and spoken English; additional regional language skills are a plus.
