Crew Chief - Wireline Operations

About the role

The Field Operations Crew Chief for wireline leads and supervises wireline field operations at client sites, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality service. The role covers planning, coordinating and executing wireline jobs, managing the crew, maintaining equipment and enforcing safety and operational procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the wireline crew in executing field operations across various sites
• Coordinate pre-job planning with clients, engineers and internal teams
• Ensure proper preparation, loading and transportation of wireline equipment
• Oversee maintenance, calibration and functionality of wireline tools and logging units
• Maintain accurate job documentation, including logs, reports and records
• Promote and enforce safety procedures and quality control standards
• Act as the primary on-site contact with the client, resolving issues and ensuring satisfaction
• Train and mentor junior crew members and operators

Required profile

• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in wireline operations, including 3-5 years in a supervisory role
• Proven field experience in Algerian wireline operations
• Diploma or technical degree in engineering or a related field
• Eligible to work in Algeria without a visa; preferred heavy driving licence (Algeria or equivalent)
• Knowledge of SONATRACH standards and procedures
• Certifications in Well Control, H2S or other oilfield safety courses

Required skills

• In-depth knowledge of open hole and cased hole operations
• Strong knowledge of 10K pressure control equipment
• In-depth knowledge of wireline tools, operations and safety protocols
• Familiarity with Algeria's oilfield operational standards and local regulations
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and on-site decision-making
• Ability to work in high-pressure environments and remote field locations
