Electrical Design Engineer – Oil & Gas

About the role

An experienced Electrical Design Technician is sought for the Engineering team in the Oil & Gas sector. The engineer carries out electrical design for complex industrial plants on EPC, FEED and Detail Engineering projects, working closely with multidisciplinary and multicultural teams, clients and suppliers. Offshore experience is considered a plus.

Key responsibilities

• Perform electrical design for onshore Oil & Gas facilities
• Draw single-line, multi-line and wiring diagrams
• Select LV/MV switchboards, power and control cables, motors, industrial lighting and earthing systems
• Prepare datasheets, technical specifications, material requisitions, cable lists, load lists and motor lists
• Support hazardous area classification (ATEX / IECEx) and short-circuit calculations and protection coordination studies
• Interface with suppliers for technical clarifications and bid evaluations
• Support construction and commissioning when required
• Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, API, EN and ATEX standards

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering / Electrotechnics
• 3-5 years of experience in a similar role in Oil & Gas or industrial plant engineering
• Strong knowledge of IEC, CEI, ATEX, IECEx standards and LV/MV industrial systems
• Good command of technical English; Italian is a plus
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams, independently and with good time management

Required skills

• AutoCAD / EPLAN (mandatory)
• ETAP, Caneco, Dialux (preferred)
• Hazardous area classification (Zone 1, Zone 2)

Preferred qualifications include experience in international EPC projects and in brownfield, revamping or upstream projects. Salary is stated as USD 1,500 - 2,000 gross per month, subject to negotiation.
