Financial Accounting Specialist - Oilfield Services

About the role

A full-time Financial Accounting Specialist is needed for an oilfield services company in Hassi Messaoud, Algeria. The role covers accounting, treasury and cash management, and tax matters for the Algerian legal entity, and requires 4+ years of finance/accounting experience in the oilfield services industry.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with local agents to provide documentation for local bookkeeping and review the accuracy of accounting records for the Algerian legal entity.
• Compile and track receipt and payment records (invoice management).
• Liaise with banks on daily payment transactions and handle bank guarantee (SBLC) applications and administration.
• Monitor fund repatriation and outbound remittance policies and regulations.
• Research and maintain up-to-date local tax laws and regulations, and review monthly tax filings and declarations.
• Prepare annual financial statements and manage corporate income tax settlement (annual reconciliation).
• Respond to tax audits and other finance-related regulatory inspections.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of finance/accounting experience in the oilfield services industry (mandatory).
• Fluent English with clear, comprehensible pronunciation (no severe accent).
• Willingness and ability to work on-site in Hassi Messaoud.
• Strict adherence to confidentiality and protection of company trade secrets.
