Group Legal Counsel – East & North Africa

About the role

Ericsson is looking for a Group Legal Counsel to join its East & North Africa legal team. You will provide strategic legal support across commercial, regulatory, governance and compliance matters, helping the business succeed while protecting the company’s interests and reputation.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a trusted legal advisor, delivering practical guidance that enables deal execution and business growth.
• Lead and support negotiations for complex customer, supplier and partnership agreements.
• Identify, assess and mitigate legal and business risks across contracts, corporate transactions and cross‑border activities.
• Advise on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, competition law, data protection, intellectual property and trade‑control issues.
• Build strong relationships with business units, functions and geographies to foster collaboration and transparency.
• Contribute to capability building through coaching, mentoring and knowledge‑sharing initiatives.
• Support an inclusive, high‑performing and collaborative team culture.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with at least 7 years of experience in a leading law firm and/or multinational in‑house legal environment.
• Strong background in commercial, corporate, regulatory and compliance matters.
• Proven ability to support complex contracts, negotiations and cross‑border business activities.
• Excellent business acumen with the capacity to balance legal risk and commercial objectives.
• Outstanding communication, negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to work independently and influence senior stakeholders across diverse environments.
• Experience in the technology or telecommunications sector is an advantage.
• Growth mindset, sound judgment, integrity and commitment to high‑quality legal support.
