Medical Science Liaison – Oncology

About the role

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) – Oncology is a field‑based scientific expert who supports AbbVie’s medical and scientific objectives across the oncology product lifecycle. The role focuses on building trusted relationships with key opinion leaders, facilitating scientific exchange, and providing accurate medical information to support clinical practice and research.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, engage, and develop professional relationships with external oncology experts within the assigned geography.
• Conduct balanced, peer‑to‑peer scientific dialogues to discuss AbbVie’s marketed products and pipeline compounds.
• Deliver credible scientific presentations and address medical or scientific knowledge gaps when requested.
• Collect and relay field intelligence, including competitor activities and emerging scientific developments.
• Support investigators involved in AbbVie clinical studies, including site identification and study initiation training.
• Collaborate with internal Medical Affairs and cross‑functional teams to ensure coordinated stakeholder engagement.

• Established scientific credibility in oncology, with strong clinical expertise.
• Ability to engage thought leaders and conduct high‑level scientific discussions.
• Excellent business acumen and market awareness.
• Effective communication skills for both scientific and non‑scientific audiences.
