Senior Network and Security Engineer

About the role

Baladna El Djazaier is seeking a Senior Network and Security Engineer to protect and optimise its extensive IT infrastructure supporting a large‑scale dairy and agricultural project in Adrar, Algeria. The role focuses on preventing, detecting and responding to security threats while ensuring reliable network performance.

Key responsibilities

• Identify network requirements, install upgrades and continuously monitor performance.
• Audit and enforce security best practices on routers, switches, firewalls and other network devices.
• Detect and investigate security incidents, compromised machines and unauthorised access.
• Develop and test deployment tools, firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
• Design and plan LAN, WAN, VPN and optical backbone solutions, including PKI and digital signature implementations.
• Collaborate with the security team to improve processes, reduce costs and increase productivity.

Required profile

• 3–10 years of experience in network engineering and security.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, switching and firewall technologies.
• Experience with security monitoring, incident response and risk analysis.
• Ability to design and implement VPN, LAN/WAN and optical network architectures.
• Familiarity with PKI, certification authorities and digital signature workflows.
