Senior Process Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Process Engineer with extensive experience in the Oil & Gas sector to lead our Process Engineering team in Algeria. The successful candidate will act as the technical reference point, overseeing process design from FEED through detailed engineering, ensuring high‑quality deliverables and seamless coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise process engineering activities for on‑shore oil & gas facilities (off‑shore experience a plus).
• Develop and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and Heat & Material Balances.
• Size and select major equipment such as separators, vessels, heat exchangers, pumps and compressors.
• Prepare, check and approve process datasheets, technical specifications, line lists, equipment lists and utility consumption summaries.
• Facilitate HAZID, HAZOP and SIL studies, conduct process safety evaluations and risk assessments.
• Coordinate with piping, electrical, instrumentation, safety and other disciplines to ensure technical consistency.
• Provide advanced technical support during client, licensor and supplier clarification meetings.
• Support construction, pre‑commissioning and commissioning phases when required.
• Mentor junior and mid‑level engineers and contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or a related field.
• 7‑10 years of experience in process design for Oil & Gas or industrial plants.
• Proven experience leading and managing an engineering team in Algeria.
• Strong knowledge of API, ASME and ISO standards.
• Excellent command of technical English; Italian is a plus.

Required skills

• Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).

• Equipment sizing and selection (separators, vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors).
• HAZID, HAZOP and SIL studies.
• Process safety evaluation and risk assessment.
• Process simulation tools – Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus.
• Familiarity with API, ASME and ISO standards.
• Technical English proficiency.
