Senior Process Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Process Engineer with proven experience in the Oil & Gas sector to lead our Process Engineering team. The successful candidate will act as the technical reference point for on‑shore facilities, overseeing design activities from FEED through detailed engineering and ensuring high‑quality deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise process engineering activities for on‑shore Oil & Gas projects, including offshore when required.
• Develop and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and Heat & Material Balances.
• Size and select equipment such as separators, vessels, heat exchangers, pumps and compressors.
• Prepare, check and approve process datasheets, technical specifications, line lists, equipment lists and utility consumption summaries.
• Facilitate HAZID, HAZOP and SIL sessions, conduct process safety evaluations and risk assessments.
• Coordinate with piping, electrical, instrumentation, safety and other disciplines to ensure technical consistency.
• Provide advanced technical support during client, licensor and supplier clarification meetings.
• Support construction, pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities as needed.
• Mentor junior and mid‑level engineers and contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or a related field.
• 7‑10 years of experience in process design for Oil & Gas or industrial plants, preferably in Algeria.
• Demonstrated experience leading and managing an engineering team.
• Current residence in Algeria.

Required skills

• Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
• Heat & Material Balances (H&MB).
• Equipment sizing for separators, vessels, heat exchangers, pumps and compressors.
• Preparation of process datasheets, line lists and equipment lists.
• HAZID, HAZOP and SIL facilitation.
• Process safety evaluation and risk assessment.
• Proficiency with Aspen HYSYS or Aspen Plus.
• Knowledge of API, ASME and ISO standards.
• Strong command of technical English.
