SMS Product Manager – Africa

About the role

Identidad Tech has built telecom infrastructure for carriers and enterprises for over 25 years, moving billions of messages and minutes a year. Africa is currently a blank page for the company: no legacy playbook and no existing team, so the SMS/A2P product manager will write it from scratch. The role is fully remote, based in Africa if possible, under an independent contract agreement.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the SMS/A2P product strategy and roadmap for Africa
• Source, negotiate and manage carrier relationships across the continent, including pricing, capacity and commercial terms
• Chase down quality issues and cost inefficiencies across the vendor base before they affect clients
• Secure the network capacity needed to enter new African markets
• Share market intelligence such as regulatory shifts, operator changes and pricing moves with the wider business
• Partner with Sales to match clients to the right opportunities

Required profile

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in SMS/A2P procurement or carrier relations
• Proven experience managing carrier relationships in Africa, knowing the vendors, regulators and market quirks
• A track record of finding and closing growth opportunities
• Strong negotiation and analytical skills, able to prioritize across a large vendor portfolio
• Advanced English, spoken and written
• Based in Africa preferred; other locations accepted with demonstrable regional experience
