Space Applications Expert – Earth Observation & Copernicus

About the role

NTU International is seeking a highly qualified Space Applications Expert to support the Africa‑EU Space Partnership Programme. The expert will lead the development, deployment and uptake of Earth Observation services, focusing on solutions built on Copernicus data to address climate, environmental and development challenges across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver Earth Observation services and applications using Copernicus data for sectors such as early warning, climate monitoring, agriculture, water management and biodiversity.
• Collaborate with African institutions, policy makers and private sector partners to promote user uptake and capacity building.
• Contribute to proposal preparation, project implementation and knowledge‑exchange activities within the AESPP Boost project.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to multidisciplinary teams working on geospatial and remote‑sensing solutions.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in geomatics, remote sensing, environmental science, meteorology, engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum eight years of professional experience in Earth Observation, geospatial services or climate/environmental applications.
• At least four years of hands‑on experience designing services with Copernicus data and products.
• Demonstrated experience working with African institutions or on projects targeting African users is an asset.
• Fluent English; working knowledge of French or Portuguese considered a plus.
