Agritech & Smart Farming Systems Officer

About the role

Baladna El Djazaier is seeking an Agritech & Smart Farming Systems Officer to design, implement, and manage technology‑driven agricultural solutions across its large‑scale dairy and crop operations in Adrar, Algeria.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy and maintain smart farming technologies such as IoT sensors, drones, and automated irrigation systems.
• Collect, analyse, and interpret agricultural data (soil health, weather, crop performance) to generate actionable insights.
• Develop and optimise smart irrigation, fertilisation, and pest‑control systems, ensuring efficient use of water, energy and inputs.
• Train farmers, technicians and staff on agritech tools, conduct workshops and provide technical support.
• Stay updated on emerging agricultural technologies, test new tools, and collaborate with research institutions.
• Plan and oversee agritech projects from concept to implementation, coordinating with stakeholders and vendors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy or a related field.
• Experience with IoT, GIS, remote sensing and precision agriculture tools.
• Understanding of agronomy, crop science and sustainable farming practices.
