Analyst - Restructuring & Special Situations

About the role

Interpath Advisory is looking for a motivated and talented Analyst to join its Special Situations Team in Algiers, Algeria. You will help deliver financial advisory services in stressed and distressed situations, working closely with senior team members on financial restructuring, Independent Business Reviews (IBRs) and distressed M&A advisory. The role develops technical and analytical skills through financial modeling, financial statement analysis, industry research and client presentations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in financial analysis and the development of financial models to assess companies' performance and liquidity.
• Support the preparation of financial reports, presentations and other client deliverables.
• Analyse business plans, cash flow forecasts and financial projections.
• Conduct industry research, market analysis and competitor benchmarking.
• Assist in restructuring, business review and distressed M&A projects.
• Support senior team members in client meetings and day-to-day project activities.
• Gradually take on more responsibility and meet project deadlines.

Required profile

• At least two years of relevant experience (internships or apprenticeships) in finance, preferably in restructuring, financial advisory, investment banking or a related field.
• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• Interest in financial restructuring, corporate finance and distressed situations.
• Good analytical and quantitative skills, basic to intermediate knowledge of financial modeling and valuation, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent English and French communication skills.
