Application Engineer - Water Treatment Service

About the role

Nalco Water, an Ecolab company, is looking for an Application Engineer to join its water treatment team. The role manages and develops long-standing client relationships, with a focus on exceeding client expectations and delivering value through technical projects that solve customer problems. The engineer works alongside Sales Representatives in strategic district accounts, supporting service delivery and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Provide routine service support to Sales Representatives in strategic district accounts, executing agreed customer system assurance and continuous improvement plans.
• Assist Sales Representatives with plant surveys of prospective customers and with start-ups of new applications in existing and new accounts.
• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders in strategic district accounts.
• Provide technical support to customers, identify and resolve pain points and escalate as required.
• Solve problems by performing system analysis, interpreting data and giving written recommendations so customer operations run at optimal levels.
• Support services such as sample testing, light maintenance, customer service, service report generation, chemical ordering and inventory management, and general labour activities.
• Follow Ecolab safety guidelines and incident reporting requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Chemistry.
• 2 years of technical service or field sales support experience.
• Valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record.
• Must live in Jijel, Algeria, with travel required to support the sales territory.

Required skills

• Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite (preferred).
• Experience with MS Excel spreadsheets (preferred).
• Water treatment or specialty chemical industry experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of boilers, cooling towers and wastewater treatment systems is an advantage.
