Backend Engineer – Fintech (Algeria)

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale the core infrastructure that powers our fintech platform. You will work closely with the CTO and the engineering team to deliver reliable, secure, and compliant services to thousands of users across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and own critical backend subsystems, including service architecture, reliability, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Integrate compliance and banking services while maintaining high security standards.
• Identify and resolve weak points in code and infrastructure to improve system health.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams to ship features for multiple markets.
• Contribute to engineering best practices, code quality, and process improvements as the organization scales.

Required profile

• Strong engineering fundamentals with knowledge of clean architecture and layered abstractions.
• Broad understanding of backend architecture, databases, site reliability, and infrastructure as code.
• Security‑mindset with experience designing robust financial systems.
• Business‑oriented decision making, balancing speed and quality.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑moving environment.
