Backend Engineer (Golang) – Fintech Startup

About the role

We are a fast‑growing fintech startup in Algeria building a digital wallet and payment ecosystem. As a Backend Engineer you will design and maintain Go‑based microservices that power secure, scalable payment flows for merchants and consumers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Go microservices and secure REST APIs for wallet creation, QR payments, merchant transactions, and voucher redemption.
• Implement business logic for ledger and transaction processing under senior guidance.
• Write clean, modular, well‑documented Go code and create unit and integration tests.
• Work with PostgreSQL: write queries, manage transactions, and handle concurrency.
• Apply input validation, idempotency, and secure coding standards to ensure reliability.
• Participate in code reviews, push daily commits to GitHub, and attend stand‑ups and technical discussions.

Required profile

• 2+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Golang and experience building REST APIs.
• Solid understanding of HTTP, JSON, middleware, and error handling.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, basic transaction handling, and concurrency concepts.
• Familiarity with Git/GitHub version control.
• Comfortable communicating in English, both spoken and written.
