Business Development Manager – Steel Trading (Algeria)

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Business Development Manager to drive growth of our steel trading activities across Algeria. You will identify high‑value opportunities in hot‑rolled coil (HRC), cold‑rolled coil (CRC), galvanized (GI) and pre‑painted galvanized (PPGI) products, and build lasting relationships with key customers.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full sales cycle from prospecting and technical consultation to contract negotiation, closing, and long‑term account management.
• Analyse Algerian market dynamics, import regulations, competitor positioning and regional demand to shape localized sales strategies.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Logistics and Finance teams to navigate customs processes and ensure seamless order fulfillment.
• Develop and nurture strategic partnerships while aggressively expanding market share to exceed sales targets.
• Represent the company at major Algerian trade events and industry associations to boost brand visibility.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of international steel trading experience with a proven record in import/export operations.
• Excellent negotiation abilities, strong commercial acumen and an established network within the Algerian steel industry.
• Self‑starter with resilience, comfortable with frequent travel and occasional regional trips.
• Fluent English for business communication.
