About the role
The Business Operations Manager will lead the administration, finance, estates, HR, IT and security functions for the British Council in Algeria. Reporting to the Country Director, the role ensures compliance with corporate standards and supports the Country Leadership Team in achieving strategic objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the Business Operations team, ensuring efficient delivery across finance, HR, estates, IT and security.
- Manage and monitor overhead budgets, provide variance analysis and support forecasting for exams and teaching centre plans.
- Maintain cash‑flow projections and update them according to the corporate schedule.
- Promote Equality, Diversity and Inclusion initiatives in coordination with the EDI coordinator.
- Identify and mitigate financial compliance and business continuity risks.
- Drive efficiency savings and improve key performance indicators.
- Provide advice, training and leadership to operational teams during organisational change.
Required profile
- 6 + years of experience in business operations, finance, administration or related fields.
- Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and budgets.
- Strong understanding of corporate governance, compliance and risk management.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with senior leadership.
