Business Unit Manager

About the role

Sarens Algérie, a service provider in maritime passenger transport, is seeking a Business Unit Manager to lead its operations in Algiers. Reporting directly to the Group General Management, the role combines strategic direction with hands‑on operational oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the unit’s strategic, commercial and financial objectives.
• Plan, execute and supervise all maritime passenger transport activities under the unit’s responsibility.
• Ensure quality, profitability and performance of the unit’s services.
• Drive business development and identify new growth opportunities.
• Lead, motivate and develop the team members reporting to the manager.
• Guarantee compliance with administrative, safety, financial and tax regulations specific to maritime operations.
• Represent the unit before port authorities, institutional partners and clients.
• Monitor budgeting, financial reporting and provide regular updates to the group.

Required profile

• Higher education degree in management, transport, logistics, commerce or a related field.
• Significant experience (10+ years) in managing service‑oriented companies, preferably in maritime or passenger transport.
• Strong strategic and operational management capabilities.
• Excellent financial and administrative management skills.
• Ability to lead change projects and work in culturally diverse environments.
• High sense of responsibility, proven leadership and results‑orientation.
