Commis Boulanger

About the role

The Commis Boulanger prepares and cooks food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and food prep checklists. The position is based in Oran and involves preparing ingredients, baking, following food safety and sanitation procedures, and keeping the kitchen clean.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping and storing food before use.
• Use baking and measuring tools and equipment safely to prepare baked foods.
• Follow food safety handling policies, including personal hygiene, and check that kitchen appliances and food are at the correct temperature, reporting issues to management.
• Wash and disinfect the kitchen area, set up and break down work stations, and follow sanitation and cleaning procedures.
• Monitor the quality of food prepared and portions served throughout the shift.
• Follow company policies on safety, security and confidentiality, complete safety training and certifications, and report accidents and injuries to the manager.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance, speak clearly and professionally, and support the team to reach common goals.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Less than 1 year of related work experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Able to move, lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds, work on sloping or slippery surfaces, reach overhead and below the knees, and stand, sit or walk for long periods.
