Document Analyst (Remote)

About the role

The Document Analyst will remotely review, verify and analyse a wide range of documents—including IDs, financial statements, legal contracts and medical forms—to ensure accuracy, authenticity and regulatory compliance. The role supports operational integrity by detecting fraud, correcting data extraction errors and providing feedback to improve machine-learning models.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and validate data extracted from diverse document types, ensuring fields such as name, date and document number are correct.
• Identify sophisticated fraud attempts, including photoshopped IDs, counterfeit documents and deep‑fake verifications.
• Apply forensic techniques to detect anomalies in security features like holograms, watermarks and micro‑print.
• Handle edge cases involving damaged, non‑standard or foreign‑jurisdiction documents.
• Collaborate with policy and product teams to develop and refine annotation guidelines.
• Provide structured feedback to ML engineers on model performance and contribute to golden datasets.
• Perform quality checks on annotations and ensure high inter‑annotator agreement.
• Maintain compliance with KYC, AML, GDPR, eIDAS and other global regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in document analysis, identity verification, KYC/AML operations or data extraction within fintech, legal‑tech or AI‑training environments.
• Deep knowledge of global identity, financial and legal documents.
• Proven ability to detect advanced document fraud and biometric discrepancies.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA, KYC and AML.

Required skills

• Proficiency with OCR software and document verification tools.
• Experience using annotation platforms for data labeling.
• Ability to work with structured data formats (JSON, XML, CSV).
• Understanding of KYC/AML compliance processes.
