Field Engineering Program – Generator Specialist

About the role

The Field Engineering Program (FEP) at GE Vernova’s FieldCore division offers an entry‑level pathway to become a Technical Field Advisor (TFA) specializing in generator equipment. Participants receive a blend of classroom and on‑the‑job training while traveling to customer sites to install, maintain, and service gas and steam turbine generators.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate on‑site activities for power generation equipment.
• Perform installations, preventive maintenance, repairs, and calibrations of gas/steam turbines.
• Respond to emergency service requests and troubleshoot problematic equipment.
• Provide technical instruction to customer representatives on operation, calibration, and maintenance.
• Prepare technical reports, order materials, obtain quotations, and update job status documentation.

Required profile

• Enrolled in the Field Engineering Program with the intention to graduate to a TFA role.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical flow and instrument diagrams.
• Understanding of dial and laser alignment procedures and thermal growth equipment.
• Commitment to safety, environmental policies, and EHS standards.
