Field Service Representative II

About the role

The Field Service Representative II joins Caterpillar’s global product support team to install, maintain, and troubleshoot turbomachinery and package systems at customer sites. You will work directly with customers, ensuring equipment reliability and delivering high‑quality service.

Key responsibilities

• Perform on‑site preventive maintenance, inspections, and commissioning of turbomachinery and package systems.
• Diagnose malfunctions using test equipment, schematics, and manufacturers’ specifications.
• Repair or replace faulty mechanical and electrical components, clean and lubricate equipment as needed.
• Utilize digital tools and systems to record service actions and update technical documentation.
• Provide call‑out services and support for emergency breakdowns.

Required profile

• Degree in engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong customer‑service orientation with the ability to meet or exceed expectations.
• Proactive initiative and problem‑solving mindset.
• Knowledge of mechanical maintenance for power‑plant and oil‑&‑gas equipment.
• Understanding of safety regulations and hazard identification.

Required skills

• Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) operation and programming.
• Use of diagnostic test equipment and hand tools.
• Interpretation of schematics and technical diagrams.
• Mechanical maintenance and preventive maintenance techniques.
• Troubleshooting of technical problems on turbomachinery.
