Field Service Supervisor – On‑Site Services

About the role

The Field Service Supervisor will lead on‑site activities for the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, repair and modification of GE high‑voltage assets such as circuit breakers, disconnect switches, transformers, gas‑insulated switchgear and instrument transformers. The role combines hands‑on technical work with supervision of contractors and coordination with customers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform installation and initial start‑ups of high‑voltage equipment.
• Carry out mechanical work in electrical substations and conduct electromechanical troubleshooting.
• Inspect equipment, structures and materials to diagnose defects and resolve customer issues.
• Supervise and give direction to contractors and customer personnel on site.
• Complete field service reports, EHS documentation, timecards and expense reports accurately and promptly.
• Act as the primary interface between GE and the customer during field operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in electrical or mechanical technology, or a closely related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience installing, commissioning and maintaining high‑voltage equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Willingness to travel up to 80 % of the time, including international trips.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in French and English.
